There is an old saying that goes, "You can't judge an art museum by its cover". The Tampa Museum of Art is the perfect example to prove the point. It is a brand new museum having opened since I was in Tampa with Wizard of Oz. The building housing the museum is super modern and cool. Sadly though the art itself was not interesting, and there was not much art to be seen. The Tampa Museum of Art seems like an art museum that relies heavily on traveling exhibitions. In fact the most exciting thing I saw in the museum was a flyer for one of those traveling exhibitions. The art look really interesting, but sadly the exhibition had closed just a matter of days before I visited. Oh well, you can't win them all.
