As I was checking for anything to do in Birmingham, I noticed a listing for the Alabama Theater. I walked over to the theater to investigate and take pictures. As I was taking pictures, I noticed another old theater across the street, the Lyric. Unlike the Alabama, the Lyric is not being used and in fact is in the beginning stages of getting the money for a renovation. When I was taking pictures of the Lyric, a gentleman noticed what I was doing and we started talking about the theaters. It turns out that he works at the Alabama, and he told me to come back when one of the movie showings was over because I would be able to get inside to take some pictures. Well of course I took him up on the offer!
