Harry Potter The Exhibition

Somewhere along the way, I had been tipped off by Mom that The Museum of Science and Industry was going to be having a Harry Potter exhibit. As it turns out, the exhibit coincided with our Chicago run so of course I had to stop by and see what it was all about. Given the postponement of the upcoming movie and the lack of a new book in the recent past (Beedle the Bard does not count) my enthusiasm towards all things Harry Potter has died down a bit. The exhibit put an end to that!

Harry Potter the Exhibition is made up of mostly props and costumes from the various movies. It is very smartly organized into the various settings and scenarios from the movies and some of it is interactive. So you can pull a mandrake or walk through Hagrid's hut and see actual memorabilia from the movies. (Daniel Radcliffe is tiny!) Interestingly the exhibit is so large that it is set up in a temporary structure outside the actual museum. I am not sure how long the exhibit runs, but I might just have to make a return visit. (Especially after seeing the new movie!)
