No one seems to remember it, but there is a classic episode of The Simpsons where Bart ends up renting a car. He, Lisa, Milhouse, Nelson, and Martin drive to Knoxville to see the World's Fair based on a tourist pamphlet in the glove compartment. Well the Fair was long over, but the symbol of the fair, The Sunsphere, is still standing. Except the The Sunsphere is now The Wigsphere, a wig store.
Well in real life, the Sunsphere is still standing and it is one of the last remaining structures from the World's Fair in 1982. It does not contain a wig store, but it does have an observatory. So I made sure to take the elevator up this time.

There were no employees anywhere to be seen, but there was an informational computer screen. Who knew that Knoxville had a Theatre District?
