One Short Day In The Magic Kingdom

My name is Ryan, and I have a problem. My problem is this: I cannot be in Florida without trying to figure out a way to go to Walt Disney World. So of course when I saw Sarasota on the schedule, I did some research and realized that it was more than reasonable to drive to Orlando during the day and make it back to Sarasota for an evening show. So naturally that is what I did! I am only human after all.

Sarasota

After a bit of unpleasant schedule, things started to look up for us. The next stop was Sarasota. Sarasota was a repeat city for me, but somehow it seems like I had fewer pictures than from my previous visit. After thinking about it I realized it was because of a side trip that I took on one of the days with only a night show. Otherwise, I did quite a lot of walking which took me through a part of town I had not seen before.

On my walk to the theatre, I walked by the Ringling compound as I was calling it. All in the same area is the Ringling Museum of Art, the Ca' d'Zan mansion, and the Asolo Repertory Theatre. Sadly I was unable to visit any of these attractions, but I took a few pictures.

I took a similar picture of the Sarasota skyline from this same bridge last time.

But unlike last time, I did not get up close and personal with a bird like I did this time!

If you look closely, this bird ordered his dinner to go.

Greensboro

After playing Savannah, we headed up north to Greensboro, NC. I would rather have stayed in Savannah.

Why Yes, I Would Like A Pound Of Butter With That

The one thing I made sure to do in Savannah was to eat at Paula Deen's restaurant, Lady and Sons. Admittedly that type of cooking is not really my favorite, but it all tasted really good. Plus I felt like I was going to die afterwards from eating so much. I think that that is inevitable though when eating Paula Deen's recipies!

A Short Stint In Savannah

It is always a bummer when we play an interesting city for only one night. Such was the case with Savannah, GA. With such an interesting history and cool architecture, I would have liked to explore. With a couple of hours after arriving at our hotel and sound check, it was hard to see much. Here are a few photos:

You Know It Is A Classy Establishment When...

they serve Diet Rite Cola! I do like the old sign though.
